Argentina Maize

Most of the Argentina maize produced is mostly used in the consumption of livestock feedstuff. Animal feed lone occupies 75-80% of Argentina's total corn consumption. There are only 0.3 million tons of Argentina's total corn is used for food processing. The maize is the golden yellowish cereal delivered in bulk form.

The outer shell or pericarp is mainly made up of crude fiber, approximately 87%. It also contains water-soluble vitamins. The most important part is the endosperm. It is made up mostly of starch (87%) and protein or gluten (8%). The germ is located at the base of the center of the grain. It is the fraction with the highest lipid content (33%) and also has a high level of protein (20%), minerals, and vitamins.
